                                        Mecanismos Moleculares de Citoproteção/ Molecular Mechanisms of Citoprotection . 

Resumo/ Abstract: 

O nosso grupo de pesquisa está focado no estudo dos mecanismos moleculares relacionados com citoproteção/ Our research group focuses on the study of the molecular mechanisms related to citoprotection.

 

 Para isto utilizamos basicamente dois modelos/ For this purpose we use basically two models:

 


-  Células beta pancreáticas/ Pancreatic beta-cells: Estudamos  alternativas para aumentar a sobrevida das células produtoras de Insulina no pâncreas visando à  otimização do transplante de ilhotas pancreáticas em pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus./  We study alternatives to increase cell survival in order to optimize   pancreatic islet transplantation  in persons with Diabetes Mellitus.

 

 

 


- Modelos de carcinomas Mamários e Pancreáticos  Humanos/ Human Mammary and Pancreatic  Carcinomas: Estudamos os mecanismos moleculares envolvidos na inibição da citoproteção/indução de morte (inibidores de metástase, mecanismos de ação de compostos fotossensibilizadores utilizados em terapia fotodinâmica, entre outros)./ We study molecular mechanisms involved in citoprotection blockage/ cell death induction (metastasis inhibitors, compounds used in photodynamic therapy, among others) which could lead to the development of alternative therapeutic  approaches .
